Spike films at the world’s largest solar trade show

Intersolar is the largest photovoltaic (solar power) trade show in the world. In collaboration with our London media partners, Photovoltaics International, Spike were in Munich again this year to interview some of the biggest names in the game. The highlight was filming a television interview with Dr Shi, Chairman and CEO of the world’s biggest solar company, SunTech. The exclusive interview took 4 months to arrange and is one of only a handful of interviews granted over his illustrious career.

Even though we have filmed the last five Intersolar events the scale of the exhibition still amazes me and we must have walked miles each day as we went from booth to booth filming more than 20 interviews in two days! Thursday was particularly tough – to keep costs down we filmed all day then flew out of Munich at 10pm that evening – arriving at our ‘luxury’ Gatwick Yotel about 1am. We didn’t have to worry about the claustrophobic conditions of our tiny cells for long though as we were up at 5.30am the next morning to fly back to Spike HQ in the Channel Islands on the red-eye – ouch!
