Thank You Guernsey

At the end of 2020, while Christmas was cancelled across the UK, Guernsey was one of the only places where a “normal” Christmas could happen. There was no social distancing and no restrictions. This was down to a huge community effort to suppress Covid-19. Working with the States of Guernsey, as a thank you to the island we produced this film (free of charge) to show a few ways in which we were lucky and to say thank you to everyone for playing their part. The theme of the story was a student returning home for the holiday and self-isolating; her sister was desperate to see her and counted down the days. Along the way we see a number of things people were able to do: the Christmas lights switch-on, shopping with no masks, a carol service and meeting friends in a pub ,finishing up with a Christmas dinner with family.

This film had a big response as soon as it was released. It seemed to strike a chord at the time and was widely shared and engaged with.
