Spring Queening Guernsey
Guernsey recently started to have a big problem with Asian Hornets, which cause a significant loss of biodiversity wherever they establish themselves.
The Committee for the Environment & Infrastructure started a programme of setting up 282 special traps to capture the queens before they could set up nests and raise their young. To achieve this they needed to enlist community volunteers to make everyone aware of the issue and encourage people to report any sightings.
We were tasked with producing a video to get the message across. We chose to produce this as an animation, which gave us scope to make it easy to understand and engaging. The style we took was bold and slightly humorous but still got the message across. The end result was a bold and clear film that helped the team execute a successful strategy and halted the spread of Asian Hornets.
