Spike produce film Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games
This summer we were contacted by the Birmingham Commonwealth games committee with a request to follow the Queens baton on it’s journey through Guernsey. We were happy to take on the task, it’s always nice to work with large organisations from off island. Our job was to follow the baton everywhere it went for it’s 3 day visit on the island. We were required to capture video footage, photographs and mobile footage to be delivered in real time for same day use on the Commonwealth games social channels. We had to capture people and athletes interacting with the baton in a multitude of locations that included Castle Cornet, Herm island, Pembroke bay and Government House. We also captured interviews with the local athletes who would be travelling to Birmingham to take place in the games.
The video above is a short edit of some of the footage we captured over the course of the 3 days. Head to the games official Instagram channel to see a longer version.
