GEL - Powering Life for Less
Toward the end of 2022 we were approached by TPA to work with them and help them deliver a video marketing campaign for Guernsey Electricity and their Powering Life for Less campaign. The idea was to follow a couple of local families as they go on a journey to reduce the amount of electricity they use and in turn reduce the cost of their bills. Guernsey Electricity would give them tips on how to reduce their usage and also gift them new, energy efficient appliances. After a couple of weeks of using their new appliance and changing their usage habits we would re visit the family and see how much they’d managed to save. We decided that the best way to do this would be to create two videos for each family, a before and an after video. The client wanted the videos to be in the style of tv’s ‘Eat well for less’, the content needed to be both informative and fun to watch, so we put a plan in place and got to work.
Once the centre was open it was important to show the public how cutting edge the centre was, we We enlisted the help of long term IslandFM presenter James Bentley to be the face of the campaign, James’ recognisable voice and presenting style would help get key information across in a professional and playful manner. We planned for James to sit down with each family and use him as a vessel to present Guernsey Electricity’s facts and figures and use cut away shots and TPA’s graphics to keep the video engaging and visually stimulating. We developed and wrote a script that satisfied the needs of broadcasting Guernsey Electricity’s message in a light, informative and engaging tone.
