A year of 125th anniversary celebrations
In 2018 the GFA were celebrating their 125th anniversary. They planned a whole season of activities to celebrate and we were involved all along the way. Right up front we created a limited edition brand that would be used across the whole of representative football for the year.
We started with going back to basics and found that the original crest was made up of snow leopards. We used this as the basis of the design and introduced the colours of all the clubs that had been involved in the GFA’s 125 years.
With a new brand we were able to then design a new kit which would be worn by every representative side throughout the season. The feedback we had from this was so good. It was seen as so much more modern than the previous kit and many players wanted to keep using it after the anniversary year.
The GFA then produced a range of merchandise which was sold and some items, such as rucksacks, were given to the juniors. The strong brand used across many different executions made for a really bold visual celebration of the anniversary.
To cap off the season we managed and produced the end-of-year awards dinner. Guests included Soccer Saturday’s Jeff Stelling and the ever-popular Matt Le Tissier. We provided the project management for the evening which included creating a stage and backdrop and organising all AV for the evening, as well as producing the presentations and videos to act as a backdrop on stage.
