The film made for British Athlete Lee Merrien was to help promote his running groups and get the message across that they were for all abilities and in a welcoming supportive environment. The groups are well set up so that faster runners can work alongside slower ones and all can train together.
Lee is the founder & main co-ordinator of the Lee Merrien Running Groups, as well as being a current international standard runner himself.
Since his graduation from the University of Bath in 2004 Lee has been actively working in the fitness industry, although he has been involved in Athletics and running since he was very young and has been actively coaching for nearly 10 years. Lee has been a middle and long distance runner himself since his school days and now regularly competes at an elite level. Recently moving up to the marathon having focused on distance from 1500 to 10k originally Lee made his debut in the 2010 Virgin London Marathon running 2.14.27. He has completed at all distances from 800m and up over the past 10 years or so. With other career highlights thus far including a sub 4 minute miles as well as winning medals at Island Games, UK championships and international level. Lee has represented England and Great Britain on numerous occasions and has also competed for Guernsey in three Commonwealth Games
In terms of coaching and group training Lee’s Running groups have been in operation since 2008. Although Lee has been coaching and helping athletes from complete beginner to elite standard the past ten years.
